Using ePlan

Using ePlan

ePlan will provide the necessary prerequisite analysis of student data, making the data understandable and ready for easy, efficient and accurate analysis by leaders and teachers.

ePlan will provide leaders & teachers the opportunity to:

  • Access a wide range of student centred data ‘triangulation’

  • Identify possible impacts on student learning for further investigation (e.g. absences).

  • Support efficient and effective decision making, planning and monitoring.

  • Stimulate professional inquiry and investigation into practice that impacts on student centred learning.

  • Differentiate teaching to meet the specific learning needs of students across the full range of abilities.

  • Evaluate personal teaching and learning programs, using evidence to inform planning.

Accessing large amounts of student data requires careful consideration by leaders and teachers, of school policies, government and system legislation and ethical decision making. Guidelines for the use of ePlan can support teachers and school leaders.

ePlan Dashboards

Guidelines for Use

Accessing large amounts of data requires careful consideration of school policies, government and system legislation and ethical decision making.

The Ethical Access and Use of ePlan User Guidelines document was created in consultation with Catholic Education personnel from all dioceses and in recognition of current legislation and research in using data.

It will be considered by school principals and Learning and Teaching leaders during the ePlan Orientation Training. It will then be the responsibility of school leaders to communicate its content to staff as part of the ePlan Preview module.

This document is designed to support each school's current privacy policy and should guide the use of ePlan.
