ePlan New Release Notes

Release notes for the new version of ePlan (v1 2021).

ICON ePlan

ICON ePlan is a business intelligence reporting tool that allows teachers and school leaders to view, analyse and compare historical and current student data such as attendance records, NAPLAN results and teacher judgments against curriculum standards.

Teachers and school leaders can use this insight to design learning to meet student needs and improve school performance through targeted initiatives.

The first release of ePlan delivers Learning and Teaching and School Leadership reports that are associated with the following data sets:

  • student, parent, and staff profile data.

  • attendance data

  • NAPLAN data

  • teacher judgments against standards, e.g. A-E reporting

  • Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) testing including Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT) data – where schools use these tools.

Further information about ePlan can be found in the ICON ePlan Fact Sheet.

Preconditions for schools to gain access to ePlan.

  1. The school must have transitioned to ICON.

  2. Schools must be using ICON attendance and semester reporting modules. (These schools will be contacted by ICON staff within, or after a semester of using ICON attendance & reporting modules and supported to implement ePlan).

Or,

  1. Where an ICON school is using a third-party application for attendance and semester reporting, access to ePlan will depend on whether the third-party application is able to transfer critical attendance and student reporting data via ICON APIs to ePlan. Schools will be contacted by ICON staff once they are eligible to access ePlan. Schools are also encouraged to discuss this matter with their third-party vendor.
